13BTs to make up for the lack of posting

1. Kaminey songs….especially, the title song sung by Vishal Bharadwaj
2. Thank God for those side splittingly funny songs from the movie Quick Gun Murugan. They provide a relaxing break from work.
3. Hot soup, warm toast, snuggly blanket to warm my toes in when I had fever for an entire week.
4. The river is a constant companion while we trek.
5. My diary. Writing the days events, during the trek, at the end of each day is a pain reliever. Takes my mind off the pain in my legs.
5. The masseuse at the GMVN rest house in Ghangaria. His hands work magic on our legs. Slowly but steadily his clientele increases.
6. Birthday weekend! Lunch at Little Italy, an afternoon of shopping sponsored by hubby dearest.
7. Lamenting the closure of a college hangout back home, with a school-mate.

8. Aloo jeera, anda bhurji freshly made at the Ghangaria resort is heavenly! With warm rotis, it is a complete meal for me.

9. Lines. I love photographing lines.

10. My parents. They are so fit, that it would put a 25 year old to shame. They trekked all the way, 60km in 4 days! I was the weakest kudi of the group!

11. Grandparents.

12. How can I forget pasta? Whole wheat penne with all sorts of veggies, a bit of cheese and salad dressing made with olive oil, lemon, vinegar, lemon rind, black pepper and italian seasoning.

13. Surprised voices, peals of laughter, tears of joy….

BTs from all the days that I did not write in this space

1. Got myself one of these babies. Photos taken using this phone’s camera will be up shortly on Visual Trademarks.

2. Flowers (a lot of them) bought from Gandhi Bazaar, early in the morning, remind me of crisp, fresh air and the vivid colors in the flower shop.

3. Sameer and me joined a group that trains for 10K, half marathons and marathons. I have started enjoying running like never before. Running on a treadmill is so boring! Whereas running early in the morning at 6am, breathing fresh air, pushing my body to perform and running that extra mile in every run is so much fulfilling.  I might still be a beginner at running but I am starting to understand why Sameer loves it very much.

4. Yoga mat bought as a spur of the moment purchase, inspired me to do surya namaskar everyday. The fact that I hurt my knee and haven’t done it since a couple of weeks, is another matter!

5. Planning for a trekking holiday in the Himalayas. We are going to the Valley of Flowers, Hemkund Sahib and Badrinath. I am hoping that we also get to do white water rafting. I have done it once before and want Sameer to feel that rush, when the raft paves its way across the rapids.

6. Table tennis everyday. I am a beginner at that as well. But I am learning…but I keep hoping that we would find a good badminton court near to the house and we use those Yonex rackets that Sameer and I bought for ourselves. We used to train with the same Badminton coach, when we were kids.

7. Whole wheat spaghetti with veggies…. 😀

8. Talking to my sis almost everyday.

9. Rain. But I wish it would stop now…

10. Award at the office.

11. Article getting published.

12. Work….have never mentioned work in a 3BT post before. But, yes, it has been good.

13. Cold coffee every evening.

14. Friends getting married.

15. Watching the rain laden clouds sail across the sky like a spanish armada…or a pregnant lady.

16. Which reminds me…Viewing photos of friends with babies on Orkut. Never know most of them were pregnant, so it was a nice surprise.

17. Cubbon Park….so much better than Lalbagh. But then nothing beats playing frisbee in Lalbagh with a Anindo, Shibika, Mainak and Mayank.

18. The picture of Sameer that I painted when we both were angry with each other. It helped us cool down…it was funny.

19. Countdown to the 4th wedding anniversary.

20. Countdown to the 28th birthday.

My Horoscope for today…

Overview

Asking for help does not make you a weak person! So before things get to the panic phase, you need to seek the assistance that you know you need (Asked the boss) . Friends who have been there before are waiting for you to ask for help, and they have some wise advice you need to hear (Advice someone gave me today: GO HOME, DRINK SOMETHING WARM AND SLEEP). Ask for what you need today. No negative assumptions will be made — your reputation is stronger than you think! Expressing your needs won’t make you needy. It will make you feel empowered.

So feeling empowered I will take my friend’s advice and go home.

Source Unknown

Found this on my laptop today. I don’t know the source 😦

1. Work out at the gym at least three days a week.

2. Eat healthy.

3. Remember to recharge the spirit—have a moment of silence and prayer to empower the day.

4. Hug hubby, kids, and cats whenever the opportunity presents itself even if it means breaking the train of thought.

5. Breathe—especially when situations present opportunities to get stressed.

6. If you don’t know, ask someone. “Ask and you shall receive.”

7. Give yourself a break. If you get frustrated, change your environment. Go for a two minute walk to clear your mind.

8. Plan when you can. Do what you can before you have to even if it is a small action list for a project.

9. Praise yourself for not procrastinating until the very last minute.

10. Make time to spend with those who care about you (once a week at the very least).

11. Be flexible. Some days may be conducive to rules and other days may not.
